Beauty Enhanced

Sometimes there is just nothing better than taking a photo that is already gorgeous and enhancing it’s beauty, take a look! The top photograph is the original, taken by Vindhya Chandrasekharan from Pexels. For those of you who don’t know, Pexels is a website full of stock images that are completely free and put there to be downloaded and reused/remade! Now, I have always loved older buildings and vintage photography so when I saw this photo I decided it would be a good one to practice what I already know.

The goal here was to enhance the shadow to light ratio which there is already a lot of, which made the whole process a bit tricky. What I did first was bring out the lights first and pushed the shadows back just a bit, making it look like as if you are walking out of the building instead of walking in.

Next I extracted the details ever so slightly to make the dents and crevices as well as the rocks on the floor and leaves on the trees stand out a hair.

Finally, I topped the work off with a subtle bronze filter, to really bring out the aged look of the building!
